How to Begin Piano Lessons

Twinkle Class

Young beginners, ages 3-5, begin lessons in small groups. Children learn easily by watching others, playing music games, singing and have short lessons at the piano.  Skills developed include concentration, small motor skills, listening skills, and rhythm.

A parent attends lessons and supervises home practice and listening.

Individual lessons

Children progress at their own rate through the repertoire. Lessons include reading music, music theory and performance skills.  The length of lessons increase as students advance.  Many students continue lesson through high-school.

Transfer Students

Students with previous study can schedule a short trial lesson, where I assess their skills and propose a course of study.

Begin Lessons

1. Schedule a time to visit the piano studio with your child. You will meet me, learn more about the Suzuki Program and have an opportunity to play the piano.

2. Fill out the registration form and discuss schedule.

Orientation

3. Before starting lessons, students will observe lessons, listen to recording of music and get supplies needed.
